Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optional display name and profile photo.

Brew Data: Shot logs, recipes, taste ratings, grind settings, and equipment profiles you create within the app. This data is stored securely in our cloud database and synced across your devices.

Device Data: When you connect Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices such as smart scales, pressure sensors, or refractometers, we receive real-time weight, pressure, and TDS readings during your brew sessions. We do not access any other data from your connected devices.

AI Interactions: Messages you send to the AI Coffee Coach are processed to generate responses. We may retain anonymized conversation data to improve the quality of our AI recommendations.

Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous usage statistics such as feature usage frequency and crash reports via Sentry to improve app stability and performance. These do not contain personally identifiable information.

• Power AI-driven recommendations and dial-in assistance
• Process subscription billing through Apple App Store and Google Play
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Moderate community-contributed content

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade PostgreSQL databases with row-level security policies. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with industry-standard practices.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Cloud database, authentication, and file storage
• Google Gemini / Groq: AI language models for the Coffee Coach feature (your messages are sent to these services for processing)
• RevenueCat: Subscription management and billing
• Sentry: Crash reporting and performance monitoring
• Apple / Google: App distribution and in-app purchase processing

5. Community Contributions

When you share recipes, bean reviews, or other content with the BaristaPal community, that content becomes visible to other users. You may delete your contributions at any time. Community submissions are subject to automated and manual moderation.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data, brew logs, and community contributions within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

BaristaPal is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app. Your continued use of BaristaPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
